Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I hire an independent patient advocate?

The US healthcare system is complex and can be frustrating to navigate. An independent patient advocate can help you manage your healthcare needs with confidence and can save you time and money by using their expertise to navigate the healthcare system. Advocacy services can help with finding additional resources, help you maximize your insurance benefits, or provide local support to a loved one when you are unable to be present.

Do you provide medical services?

No, Patient Advocates Northwest provides only advocacy services. We use our training and experience in healthcare to gather information and resources, educate clients, and support clients to confidently make medical decisions. Clients must continue their relationship with their primary care provider and specialists as needed.

How much does it cost?

Prices will be estimated after an assessment of your needs and the scope of the work is performed. Please email or call to set up a free phone call to discuss!

Doesn't my hospital have advocates for free?

Your hospital or insurance company may have patient advocates or care navigators available to you. They are often tasked with assisting patients in ways that reduce the risk of lawsuits, improve satisfaction scores and control costs. When you hire an independent patient advocate, we work for you and will provide unbiased information and advocacy services based on your needs.

Can you come with me (or my family member) to appointments?

Yes, we make every effort to come to appointments when requested. We can also join appointments remotely via phone or video and we always prepare a list of questions to help you maximize your time with your provider and get your questions answered fully.
